Ultralounge - On The Rocks pt.1

This extremely FUNNY compilation ensembles the most bizarre and stupid covers ever made by well-known artists of famous rock classics. Most of these tunes are ridiculous easylistening versions of classics like "Light My Fire" or "A Hard Day's Night" directed towards the more square and conservative public.
Some versions are extremely laughable(Light my fire, Dylan's Quinn the Eskimo, Kink's Tired of Waiting For You) and some are even interesting(A sitar version of the Monkee's Daydream Believer).

1. Zacharias - Light My Fire (The Doors)
2. Mel Torme - Sunshine Superman (Donovan)
3. Martin Denny - Incense and Peppermints (Strawberry Alarm Clock)
4. Sir Julian - Green Tambourine (Lemon Pipers)
5. Stu Philips - Tired of Waiting For You (Kinks)
6. Peggy Lee - A Hard Day's Night (Beatles)
7. Mariano Moreno - A Whiter Shade of Pale (Procol Harum)
8. Hollyridge Strings - Heartbreak Hotel (Elvis?)
9. New Classic Singers - As Tears Go By (R. Stones)
10. Al De Lory - Evil Ways (Santana)
11. Little Big Horns - Get Back (Beatles)
12. Lettermen - Hello, I Love You; Touch Me (The Doors)
13. Hollyridge Strings - Theme From Shaft
14. Julie London - Quynn The Eskimo (Bob Dylan)
15. John Andrew Tartaglia - A Day In The Life, I Am The Walrus (Beatles)
16. Lord Sitar (sic) - Daydream Believer (Monkees)
17. Wayne Newton - Love Grows (Where my Rosemary Goes) (Edison Lighthouse)
18. Henry Jerome - Aquarius (Hair)

Ps: Thanks a lot to Bishop, for helping me finding some band names. And how funny is the fact that a man named Bishop helps a blog named Jesvs Cristvs? Gee.

  1. Mmm. Tasty.

Aquarius would have been from Hair (hit single by The 5th Dimension); Love Grows was a one-hit wonder for Edison Lighthouse; Evil Ways might be a version of the Santana song (not sure there); Green Tambourine was a hit for the Lemon Pipers who recorded for bubble gum label Buddha Records (also home of the Archies).
