Black Taj - Black Taj (2005)

Black Taj is the band the former members from Polvo created in early 00's in order to have freedom to pursuit new musical directions without being directly related to their old sound.

Well, like Polvo, Black Taj is also guitar-based. But, instead of indiesonicyouthesque music, you'll hear one of the best hardrock band that have come out in the last few years.

The relation to Led Zeppelin is obvious, and, at sometimes, even the guitars sound like taken off from a Zeppelin album, but, that's not a bad thing. On the contrary, it is one of the best thing about this album.

If you like Led Zeppelin and Sonic Youth, listen to this and you'll see what would their son sound like.

1 - Back to the bridges
2 - Cinema Style
3 - Clover
4 - Self Soothing
5 - Roots
6 - Octastone
7 - Beyonder
8 - Red Jr.
9 - Woke up Tired

Blue Cheer - Outside Inside (1968)

One of my favourite hard-psychedelic albuns ever. I'll quote the words of the sage George Starostin to help me out:

"Christ!"
"This must be the worst production on any album I've ever heard. In fact, the first impression from this bunch of messy, disconnected, dissonant, rambling "songs" is that every single member of the band filled his innards with as much bourbon as possible, then avidly threw up on every single instrument and gadget, then recorded the album without even bothering to clear the vomit out of the speakers. Or something to that effect. The guitars are constantly out of tune, the drummer is constantly out of synch, and the volume level gives a very vivid impression of a busy groundhog merrily chewing on the knobs for lack of a better source of nutrition. Now d'ya get the picture?"

"And it's sort of fun."
It is fun indeed!
Setlist:
1) Feathers From Your Tree;
2) Sun Cycle;
3) Just A Little Bit;
4) Gypsy Ball;
5) Come And Get It;
6) Satisfaction;
7) The Hunter;
8) Magnolia Caboose Babyfinger;
9) Babylon

Led Zeppelin - JvCv's 10 favourite songs

I know Led Zeppelin is one of the most famous bands in the world. But these 10 songs don't get the deserved attention. Most of the time all we hear is "Immigrant Song", "All My Love" and (urgh) "StAiRwAy To HELLven".

Well, if you think Led is one of my (Father Henricius) favourite bands because of those songs, you're wrong. Listen to those ten gems and you understand why they are the best hardrock band that has ever lived.

1 - Custard Pie
2 - Royal Orleans
3 - Celebration Day
4 - For Your Life
5 - Candy Store Rock
6 - Carouselambra
7 - Hots on for Nowhere
8 - Achilles Last Stand
9 - Trampled Under Foot
10 - I'm gonna Crawl
